Davis Receives National Honor
Louisville- Brandon K. Davis of Kentucky was named the Outstanding Young Member of the National Association of Supervisors of Agricultural Education at the organization’s annual convention. Davis is an Agricultural Education Consultant in the Kentucky Department of Education and serves as the Kentucky FFA State Advisor.
The award honors state agricultural education leaders who have been in their positions for three to five years. Davis was chosen for this award by a panel of state agricultural education leaders from across the nation. Some of his accomplishments cited by the committee included:
- Leading a strategic planning process for Kentucky agricultural education
- Revision of Kentucky Occupational Skill Standards for Agriculture
- Development of Kentucky Master Agriculture Teacher program.
Davis has served in his current position since November of 2011. Prior to assuming his role with the Kentucky Department of Education he taught agricultural education at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown. He is a native of Green County and a graduate of Western Kentucky University. Davis serves on the board of Kentucky Farm Bureau. He is a current participant in the Farm Bureau LEAD program and serves as the Western Kentucky University Young Alumni Association President.
