CTE Summer Program

The Kentucky Association of Career and Technical Education (KACTE) annually host the CTE Summer Program at the Galt House in Louisville. This professional development is a time for teachers to be updated on changes in programs, share best practices, visit vendors, receive recognition for outstanding performance, and make plans for the upcoming school year.

Agricultural Education Winter PD

The Annual Agricultural Education Winter Professional Development allows teachers to receive updates and resources at the mid-point of the year.  This year, the Winter PD will be held on Monday, December 30th at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.  A complete schedule will be posted in early December.

Technical Upgrade Trainings

Technical Upgrade Trainings are provided each year (typically during the summer) for teachers to receive information on changes to technology and/or practices within their industry.

New Teacher Workshop

The New Teacher Workshop series is offered for both new and returning Teachers of Agriculture.  The series includes four workshops throughout the year and graduate credit is offered for teachers who attend all four workshops.

About KMAT

Kentucky Master Agriculture Teacher Program

The Kentucky Master Agriculture Teacher (KMAT) Program is a highly engaging professional development program built around the concepts of Leadership Development, Effective Teaching Practices, Mentorship, and Advocacy. Participants will have opportunities to grow themselves on multiple levels, while also improving agricultural education in Kentucky.

Each KMAT class will be made up of no more than 15 individuals, who have 5-15 years of teaching experience in agricultural education. Participants must have been a member of KAAE for a majority of their teaching career.
