Announcements

Brandon Davis of the Kentucky Department of Education Office of Career and Technical Education was chosen as the President Elect of the National Association of Supervisors of Agricultural Education (NASAE) at the group's annual convention in Indianapolis.  Davis will serve as President Elect in 2017-2018 and as President of the organization in 2018-2019.  Along with other members of the Executive Committee, he will be responsible for providing leadership and day to day management of the organization.  As President he will be responsible for the organization's annual convention and professional development offerings.

"Brandon's election to NASAE President Elect represents the respect he has gained in a very short time in the profession," according to State FFA Executive Secretary Matt Chaliff.  "Through hard work and a committment to excellence he has demonstrated to his peers across the nation that he is worthy of this leadership role."

NASAE is the professional association for state leaders of school-based Agricultural Education across the nation.  The organization provides leadership, support, and professional development to it's members and coordinates with other groups such as the National Council for Agricultural Education, the National Association or Agricultural Educators, and the Association for Career and Technical Education to provide leadership and direction for the Agricultural Education profession.

For the past six years, Davis served as a Program Consultant for Agricultural Education in the Kentucky Department of Education.  In this role he provides leadership for local Agricultural Education programs which include oveer 25,000 students.  He is also responsible for providing technical support and coordinating professional development for over 260 teachers of agriculture in 151 local programs.  By virtue of his position he serves as the State Advisor to the Kentucky FFA Association.  Prior to coming to the Department of Education, Davis taught Agriculture at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.
