Whitley County Wins State Forestry CDE

Contest Results

The State Forestry Career Development Event was held April 30 at Green River Lake State Park in Campbellsville.

Whitley County FFA was the winning team.  Team members were Cheyenne Gibson, Cody Wells, Lowell Carter, and Aaron Ellis.  The team was coached by Advisor Glen Croley.  They will represent Kentucky at the National FFA Convention in October.

Other teams in the top five were:

2nd Place- Montgomery County

3rd Place- McCreary Central

4th Place- North Laurel

5th Place- Green County

 

The high individual was Lowell Carter from Whitley County with a score of 695.  The second high individual was Sydney Ellen Gooding of Montgomery County and the third high individual was Jeremy Weaver of North Laurel.

Special thanks to the Kentucky Division of Forestry for hosting the CDE and to Taylor County and Adair County FFA for preparing lunch.
