Friends of Agriculture Specialty License Plate Design Contest
Kentucky FFA, Kentucky 4-H and Kentucky Proud are pleased to announce the Friends of Agriculture Specialty License Plate Design Contest—an opportunity for Kentucky students to showcase their creativity while supporting the future of agriculture in the Commonwealth. The new Friends of Agriculture Plate will be available for purchase as a specialty license plate to Kentucky drivers in 2026. Proceeds will directly benefit 4-H, FFA and KY Proud programs. While the current farm plate is specifically for KY Farmers, the Friends of Agriculture plate will be chance for any Kentuckian to support agriculture through these three important programs.
We’re asking for your help in sharing this opportunity with your 4-H /FFA members to encouraging them to submit their own original designs!
Contest Guidelines:
- Design Contest runs from June 1, 2025 – September 5, 2025. A winner will be announced on October 1, 2025. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize!
- Logos Required: Designs must include the KY Proud, FFA, and 4-H logos (minimum size: 1 inch square). Logos can be found https://www.kyagr.com/agfriends/.
- Design Space: Full design requirements can be found on the webpage
- Dark Grey Areas: No graphics allowed, but light backgrounds or images with max 30% opacity are permitted.
- Top Text: “KENTUCKY” must remain in its current placement and font. Black and white preferred, but color is allowed.
- Bottom Text Suggestions: Examples include “Friends of Kentucky Agriculture,” “I Support KY Ag,” etc. Must fit in a 6"x1" space at the bottom center.
- Light Grey Areas: Open for creativity! Original artwork, graphics, or photography should be embedded. Avoid drop shadows or fine detail, as this may not print well.
- Technical Requirements:
- Keep all design elements within the red outline (.25" margins will print as a white border).
- Submit final entries as a PDF file.
- Maintain original artwork and image files until February 1, 2026.
- Consider creating artwork in Adobe design programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign, or other design platforms such as Canva. Ensure that all designs are students original artwork/photography.
This is a unique chance for students to be recognized across the state—and potentially see their design on Kentucky roadways!
