Kentucky FFA Foundation Job Opportunity - Program Manager

The Kentucky FFA Foundation is seeking a driven and enthusiastic individual with a passion for strengthening Agricultural Education in Kentucky. This position focuses on expanding opportunities for students, fostering connections between education and industry, and ensuring the continued growth of Kentucky Agricultural Education.

This new role requires a strong work ethic, a cooperative and coachable attitude, and a vision for its future impact.


Key Responsibilities

1. Building Industry & Education Connections

  • Develop relationships with agricultural educators and industry leaders to bridge the gap between workforce needs and student interests.

  • Manage the Kentucky FFA Expo at the State FFA Convention, ensuring an engaging experience for industry partners, educators, and students.

  • Identify and promote professional development opportunities for students, educators, and industry partners.

  • Represent Kentucky FFA at industry events, such as Kentucky Agriculture Council meetings, to strengthen partnerships.

2. Leading & Expanding Kentucky Teach Ag Efforts

  • Develop and maintain a clear recruitment and communication pipeline for high school and college students interested in becoming agricultural educators.

  • Plan and execute Teach Ag recruitment events for current FFA members.

  • Maintain regular communication with undergraduate Agricultural Education majors, providing at least quarterly updates on professional opportunities.

  • Moderate an online forum for Agricultural Education majors to foster engagement and discussion.

  • Organize an annual event for student teachers.

  • Oversee the Teach Ag STAR Committee, including managing Ag Ed Ambassadors.

  • Administer the Golden Owl Award Program to recognize outstanding agricultural educators.

3. Promoting & Managing Kentucky FFA Works

  • Educate agricultural educators, students, and employers about the Kentucky FFA Works program.

  • Serve as the connection between students and Kentucky FFA Works employers, coaching and encouraging students to apply.

  • Promote Kentucky FFA Works to potential industry partners.

  • Review and curate applicants to ensure high-quality matches for employer partners.

  • Advocate for agricultural education as a critical component of Kentucky’s workforce development, strengthening industry relationships.

4. Grant Coordination & Program Funding

  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities to support Ag Ed recruitment, retention, and program growth.

  • Work with the Kentucky FFA Foundation staff to write and manage grant applications.


Position Details

  • Remote office based with travel expected to schools, meetings, and program implementation.  Mileage reimbursed at the federal rate. 
  • Salary range: $50,000 - $65,000 (based on experience).
  • Benefits:
    • Health Insurance or HSA

    • 3% Simple IRA match

    • $125/month office stipend

Paid Time Off & Holidays

  • Paid Holidays:

    • Martin Luther King Jr. Day

    • Memorial Day

    • Independence Day

    • Labor Day

    • Thanksgiving Day & Friday after Thanksgiving

    • Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

    • New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day

  • Paid Time Off (PTO):

    • 15 days upon hire

    • 17 days after one year

    • 22 days after four years

    • Up to 7 unused PTO days may be carried forward each year (not paid out upon departure).

    • Employees may take up to 30 PTO days per year.

Parental Leave

  • 8 weeks paid maternity leave or 2 weeks paid paternity leave.

  • Additional leave can be used from PTO.

Flexible Work Hours

  • Employees who work outside regular hours at a Kentucky FFA Foundation function may arrange flex time with the Executive Director.

Professional Development

  • Paid opportunities for continued professional growth.


Ideal Candidate

  • Degree in Agricultural Education, Agriculture, or a related field.

  • Strong communication skills and a self-starter attitude.

  • Passion for networking, building partnerships, and addressing critical needs in Kentucky Agricultural Education and workforce development.
