Senate Bill 1 in 2009 overhauled the state’s education accountability system, providing a strong focus on preparing all students for college and careers. As such, Career and Technical Education in Kentucky has grown as schools realize the value of CTE in a student’s education.

Kentucky Occupational Skill Standards Assessment – KOSSA is part of Kentucky’s Technical Skill Attainment measure as mandated by Federal Perkins legislation.

Within Career Readiness there are two assessments used to measure academic skills, the WorkKeys (managed by ACT) and the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).
