Foundation Programs
State Convention & Contest Sponsorship
All convention activities and contests are funded directly from sponsorships. By choosing to be a convention or contest sponsor, the gift is used in the following ways.
- Awards to state winners
- Cash prizes to regional and state winners
- Meal function sponsorships
- Convention program advertising
- Agriculture Career Show
- Agriscience Fair
Project LEAD
This funding comes from the 2002 Agriculture Development Board Grant and has a tremendous impact on FFA members. A breakdown of Project LEAD funds are as follows.
- Ag. Entrepreneurship Grants
- 11 Billy Ray Smith State Officer Scholarships
- Funding for the SAE Class and Grants at the KY FFA Leadership Training Center
- State Degree Program
- Governor's Sale of Champions
Ag Teachers Change Lives
Individuals and communities can honor current or retired agriculture teachers for a donation of $2,000.
- Teachers are honored at State FFA Convention
- Photos will be displayed at the KY FFA Leadership Training Center
- Half of the money contributed is returned to the local chapter for scholarships.
- The Foundation portion is reinvested in programs to support and train agriculture teachers
FFA Jacket Program
The FFA Jacket Program began in 2006 and has since helped more than 1,000 students worthy of receiving an FFA Jacket. Leslie Stith & Monsanto provide half the funds, which are matched by other sponsors and the Foundation Board. Anyone may contribute to providing an FFA Jacket Scholarship.
FFA Camp Scholarships
Join donors such as the Maddox, Chambliss, Hamilton families and provide a "FFA Camp Scholarship". The funds are managed by the FFA Foundation and the FFA Alumni manages the application and selection process, allowing many students in financial need the opportunity to attend FFA Camp.
Toy Tractor & Knife Sales
A collectible tractor and knife are debuted annually. They are sold at Southern States stores and several agriculture trade shows. Anyone interested in becoming a collector, or just purchasing their favorite model, please contact us today!
RAM Scholarship Program
A special thanks goes to Board Member Darryl Billings and Billy Ray Smith for making this program possible for FFA members.
- Chapter collects $5 donations
- Donors are entered into a drawing to win a New Dodge Ram Pickup
- $4 goes straight to the local FFA Chapter and $1 goes to the FFA Foundation.
- Local Dodge Dealerships sponsor FFA Chapters.
- The truck will be presented to the winner at the 2012 State FFA Convention!
Teacher of the Year
The Teacher of the Year program recognizes one teacher for each region and a state winner every year.
- Regional winners receive $200
- State winner receives $1,000 and represents Kentucky in the national contest.
- Kentucky has had 2 National Winners since 2004!
National Convention Travel
This program offsets travel costs for those representing Kentucky at National Convention.
- Teams receive $300
- Proficiency Finalists receive $100
- Band, Chorus and Talent receives $300
